Something of a Vlog – October 24, 2011

Honestly, it seems I don't know very much about what's going on in the news,

but I know something about what's going on here, I'm watching the children grow up, like a Gardner watching plants grow fruit, it's not super fast but there are the occasional opportunities to guide their growth.

This last week we did a science experiment with alka-seltzer, the kids loved it,  I loved it, and they got to learn something new; and more exciting than that, we were able to spend time together at the park asking funny questions and exploring the answers.

Once again, I have been playing with the hypnosis audio books, linked on the page, and they are crazy awesome for putting the kids down for naps when they aren't 100% eager.  My younger son said "Daddy, it doesn't hypnotize me, it just bores me to sleep."  I think if that's what really happens, I'm okay with that too.  Sometimes they need a middle of the day nap.

This is the hypnosis Audio Book that I have gotten and play for the kids; this is my favorite "c'mon kids, it's time to sleep" one.  If you try or do something like this, please let me know, I'm excited for any thoughts regarding the subject.

We went to a science fair this last week at the children's school, combine that with the science experiment and you'd think they'd be scienced out, but they aren't.  I also noticed there's a new exhibit at the science center that explores the possiblity of life outside of earth, that's the kind of thing I could take the children to and you could almost believe I took them to Disneyland for how excited they'd become.

This weekend was great, but so busy that it seems all I had to do is wake the children up and it was time to get them to bed.

Also the other night the children and I sat down and watched "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead."  It's an incredible documentary about how to eat healthier.  If you want to be healthy, overcome sickness, or just be happier that's a show I couldn't recommend highly enough.  Here's the link where you could rent it on Amazon video for cheap.

How it Should Have Ended – Harry Potter (From the quote "The Honey Badger just takes what it wants."  My daughters say this ALL the time, and it's cute, every time.

How was your week?
