Part of the idea is that because we didn't have all of the molds we wanted we might have luck making our own from corn starch and sterilized toys.

We first washed the toys in the dishwasher and then used them with Corn Syrup to make little molds that we could fill with the burning hot liquid sugar.

My Daughter sang a song she wrote that went something like "I love helping Daddy cook!!!" and she sang it over and over as she watched very carefully to make sure the sugar didn't get too hot.

Believe it or not, it was about at this point that I decided the lollipops may not turn out the way I had hoped. I did do it once or twice more with about the same success. It may have won the battle (I got burned a little ) But it shall not win the war!
