As I mentioned in a post before, when asked "Can we build it?!" The answer isn't always "Yes" sometimes the best answer is a question: "​Should we build it?!"  

​The Phrase "Should we build it!?" echoed through my mind as I looked at the task inside my minds eye.  (Of course you don't build something like 'this' 'on paper'!) 

The thought went like this:

I've seen pipes for sale, and I've seen fittings for sale, I bet if I bought the right pipes, and the right fittings, I could make something that I could do pull-ups on!

That's where the thought ended, then it was Saturday, and the children who had previously gone on a great hike, were stuck not going on a great hike and they had about eight times more energy than they needed, and by some time shortly after noon I thought "I'm going to totally make that pipe thing to help burn off their energy!"

Several hours later, and dollars later I was faced with this:

The opportunity to stop… and think "Really?!" and "What am I doing?!"  I'd like to now lie and say that putting all the tubes together was a flawless process, but I had some plastic fittings that weren't a great idea, (They would have worked fine in a diffrent setup, but this isn't that setup.")  Once I changed out the plastic fittings for metal the things went together like … putting pickup sticks pack into the center of the pile.  It was just that easy!  Turns out also that these tubes, once they're fitted together without oil… they grow very fond of each other. 

Really though, almost before you can say "Frightening Eye Sore!" I had the whole thing put together.

The height is perfect, the bottom one is wonderful for the kids, the top one is great for me, and with help the kids can play on the whole thing. 

No sooner was it complete than the children started playing all over it, works well enough.  I know how I'd change it next time, but it's pretty incredible!
