Weekly Status Update – 4/16/2012

I really enjoy doing these weekly updates so that I have an ongoing record of some kind for these daily activities.  Life feels crazy; I'm in the process of looking for places to move that aren't an apartment anymore, I'm so very eager to see what the future brings, but it's bittersweet because I try to live in each moment as it comes.

I'm doing a juice fast, you've probably guessed 😉  It's really fantastic.  The children and I are reading "The Hobbit" together, which is a lot of fun, I've discovered you can know that the children are following along well with what you're reading when they laugh at the lines in the book.  I sang the song "That's what Bilbo Baggins Hates" and the girls started rolling on the floor laughing; it's become an instant family favorite!

"Chip the glasses and crack the plates!

Blunt the knives and bend the forks!

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates –

Smash the bottles and burn the corks!

Cut the cloth and tread the fat!

Pour the milk on the pantry floor!

Leave the bones on the bedroom mat!

Splash the wine on every door!

Dump the crocks in a boiling bowl;

Pound them up with a thumping pole;

And when you've finished, if any are whole,

Send them down the hall to roll!

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!

So, carefully! Carefully with the plates!"

I took the children to the Air Force base on Saturday for the Air Show, it brought back a lot of memories, more than I would have expected… they had a great time and I got some fun pictures I'll have to share at some point in the future.

I took the children to look at the house I put a bid in on, they liked it as much as they could from the outside, but weren't fully impressed by how small the backyard was.  It's bigger than what I have now, but I agree with them, it's not the house I'd retire in.

How was your week?

It feels like our vacation was so long ago; the week went by far faster than I could have ever hoped.
