Kid at Heart – Supported by Data

Lately it has occurred to me that I'm getting older, and with that that in mind, I created a chart.  The nice thing about data is that it is easy to manipulate.

Here is a chart that shows how much time I'm spending under 20.

I created a chart to make me feel better about how old I am ;)

I know that makes it seem like I spend the majority of my time acting like a kid… but check this out.

The mean or Medium of the road is the middle part.  Often, people use the mean to more accurately represent skewed data: for example, if you are in a room with 200 people, and one person is the Billionaire Bill Gates the average income in the room makes shows that everyone is a millionaire, but you'd probably remember if that was the case.  To more accurately represent the data, you take the mean income of the room, that's where you sort all of the numbers from lowest to highest, pick the one in the middle, and say that the middle represents the populace better than the average does.

The next chart represents the mean time I spend under 20.
